Missouri native and 2009 NCAA heavyweight wrestling champ Mark Ellis signed with Zinkin Entertainment, says the incredible Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Looking at the Zinkin website, the Fresno, CA based group represents Cain Velasquez, Chuck Liddell and Josh Koshcheck to name a few of 40 or so of their clients.

Amarillo, TX– The outdoor “Shark Fights” card drew a reported 10,918 on the same night (June 26) Fedor Emelianenko tapped out against Fabrice Werdum on Showtime. In addition, the MMA show was carried on ESPN Radio live, which promoters feel is usually not a good thing for live gates, at least in boxing. But again, unlike boxing there was sponsorship money and because of such things like live radio broadcasts can take place. Before the days of ESPN, Cable News and the Internet, listening to fights on the radio was cool!
