A lot of people, most importantly UFC czar & President Dana White thought St. Pierre, one of the UFC’s biggest stars had lost. Dana said after St. Pierre walked away with his title in hand that, “I thought GSP only won one round.” The now 32-year old Cannuck St. Pierre is a man with an incredible amount of pride. After taking a rap from Dana after the Split Decision win, he probably just said, “Screw this.”

With a record of 25-2 and both losses against Matt Hughes and Matt Serra having been avenged, there is nothing really left for the 11 year MMA superstar except defeat brought about by age and injuries. He said in a statement Friday that, “There’s too much weight on my shoulders.”

On March 15 at UFC 171, #1 ranked Johny Hendricks (15-2) will meet (and beat) Robbie Lawlor (22-9) in Dallas, TX for the vacant UFC 170 lb. belt.
