LIGHTWEIGHT TOPS UFC FIGHT NIGHT
Kenny Florian, 155 lbs, Westwood, MA vs. Takanori Gomi, 155, Tokyo, Japan. Florian (12-4, 3 KOs, 8 SUBs) will look to spoil Gomi’s (31-5, 11 KOs, 6 SUBs) UFC debut, but it won’t be easy. Florian will likely be looking for the submission and the fireball kid will probably seek an exciting KO to make his presence known in the UFC lightweight division. Florian is favored but I am leaning towards a victory for the Japanese veteran.
MAN WHO KO’D KIMBO SLICE IN SPIKE TV SEMI-MAIN
Roy Nelson, 260, Las Vegas, NV vs. Stefan Struve, 240, Beverwijk, North Holland, Netherlands. Although Nelson (14-4, 7 KOs, 4 SUBs) is 11 inches shorter than Struve (19-3, 3 KOs, 14 SUBs), he holds a twenty pound weight advantage! It should be a very interesting or at least interesting looking clash of heavyweights. Nelson, The Ultimate Fighter season ten winner at heavyweight, will likely win by smother.
K-FLO TOPS UFC FIGHT NIGHT ON SPIKE TV
On Wednesday night the UFC brings a strong card to Spike TV. On top it’ll be Nate Quarry, 185, Gresham, OR vs. Jorge Rivera, 185, Amherst, MA. Quarry (12-3, 7 KOs, 2 SUBs) is still striving to become a serious player at middleweight (185), but he will have to get passed a tough foe in Rivera (17-7, 11 KOs, 2 SUBs), who is known to pull off upsets.
Ross Pearson, 155, Sunderland, England vs. Dennis Siver, 155, Mannheim, Germany. The lightweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter season nine Ross Pearson (10-3, 3 KOs, 5 SUBs) looks to continue his winning ways as he takes on the rugged German in Siver (15-6, 5 KOs, 8 SUBs). Pearson seems to improve with every showing and looks to grab another W.
