MAIN EVENT DID NOT LAST TOO LONG

Vitor Belfort (19-8, 13 KOs, 2 SUBs) TKO 1 Rich Franklin (25-5, 13 KOs, 9 SUBs) Vitor “the Phenom” Belfort made a successful and impressive return to the UFC with a first round TKO stoppage over former long time middleweight champ Rich Franklin. After an uneventful first few minutes, Belfort connected with a punch that put Franklin down then continued the beating until ref Yves Lavigne stepped in. Great win for the phenom.

UNDERCARD

Junior Dos Santos (9-1, 6 KOs, 3 SUBs) SUB3 (punch) Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic (25-7-2, 19 KOs, 3 SUBs)
After a somewhat evenly contested couple of rounds with Dos Santos probably getting the better of it, Cro Cop QUITS! In the third frame Dos Santos landed a punch onto Cro Cop’s eye and he immediately waves for the referee to intervene. Dos Santos scores a solid win over a big name and Cro Cop continues to have his struggles inside the octagon.

Paul Daley (22-8-2, 17 KOs, 1 SUB) TKO1 Martin Kampmann (15-3, 7 KOs, 5 SUBs) Daley won a controversial TKO victory after what appeared to be a premature stoppage. Up until the stoppage both men smacked each other around with effective punches until Daley sent Kampmann reeling into the cage which caused ref Yves Lavigne to seemingly jump in early as Kampmann still appeared to be defending himself.

Josh Koscheck (13-4, 4 KOs, 4 SUBs) TKO1 Frank Trigg (19-7, 8 KOs, 6 SUBs) Koscheck easily dispatched Frank “I should retire” Trigg in the first round with strikes. Koscheck dropped Trigg with a punch then teed off on him on the ground until the fight was stopped. Trigg eventually got up and threw a temporary hissy fit about the stoppage until accepting defeat.

Tyson Griffin (14-2, 6 KOs, 3 SUBs) TKO3 Hermes Franca (19-8, 6 KOs, 11 SUBs) After a somewhat slow first round that Griffin controlled; he was able to extend his record to 14-2 after dispatching Franca with successive strikes which eventually caused Franca to become defenseless and caused ref Dan Miragliotta to halt the action.
