Las Vegas, NV-There have been columns, articles, a possible op-ed piece, you name it, everybody has an opinion as to whether or not Jermain Taylor can develop into a great fighter. Beating names like Felix Sturm, Jeff Lacy, and Winky Wright, this can help the Arkansas native prove his case. But right now, instead of enjoying a pair of close wins over a certain Hall of Famer in Bernard Hopkins, Jermain is forced to go on the defensive! Shouldnt be that way! You cant win a fight counterpunching, all the while hiding in a defensive shell, a la Hopkins. Had Bernard, decided to go for it, and match Taylor mano y mano, the Philadelphia native would have been thrashed. Thats why, he stunk the joint out! This was Hopkins chance to silence the critics, make the judges in the first fight look bad, and most of all, prove that he at 41 was a better fighter. In closing, Bernard, failed to deliver period

Heres hoping that Tarver doesnt pull his punches, and thus, beat the snot out of Sly! Tell me, that the mere thought of that isnt amusing? Speaking of Stallone, he cant fight, never could fight, and according to the domestic help that worked for him, hes a jerk too! Some said Sly refused to allow them to look at him, eye to eye! LET US KNOW WHAT WAS THE BEST FIGHT OF 2005? There were a few barnburners, and without me suggesting any particular fights, which matches stand out for you the fan? PEYTON SHER PIECE: That article done in November by the Shreveport News, on the great Peyton Sher, was a glowing piece, of which the 81-year old Sher is most deserving. We are developing a Wall of Fame, and Peyton is the dirst inductee.DON KING MEDICAL UPDATE: A fortnight ago, promoter Don King, all 73 years, and 265 lbs. of him, had a Stint put in his heart in order to widen a partially clogged artery. It was a painful procedure, as they put a catheter in him, (men can probably begin to imagine the pain), and drove it up to his heart. Being the immortal soul that he is, King, remained in NYC for a week, before hitting the road for his annual Don King turkey drive. NEXT DKP SHOW: World cruiserweight king Jean Mormeck (32-2-1, 21 KOs) looking to behead ONeil Bell (25-1-1, 23 KOs) on January 7th, with Showtime airing…HBO TAKING A LOT OF HEAT! If you look at the comments left after my Saturday article, Las Vegas Results & More, and Cliff Rolds Will Taylor Make the Wright Or Wrong Decision?, youd think Home Box Office had fed many of you rat poison. Look, the Taylor-Hopkins II card sucked! The Antonio Tarver-Roy Jones II fight sucked, and the Marco Antonio Barrera-Robbie Peden, well, it sucked too! But, HBO subscribers rejoice! With Boxing After Dark, making a big return in 2006, theres an opportunity for HBO to go back to being the undisputed champion of boxing on cable. In Las Vegas for a meeting, Im on a late night flight homeward bound. Working on this story, if it materializes, will be one of my best efforts. Now, Im going through the monotony of cross checking sources, double checking facts, and the like. If it comes to fruition, itll take only two hours to write. Compared to the 20+ hours Ive already put into it already, thats nothing.PHOENIX PROMOTER & ONE-LEGGED AIDE GO UNDER OATH: Time is running out on Phoenix, AZ promoter Peter Mc Kinn. Later today, promoter Bob Arums front man in Arizona, has to appear for a sworn Deposition. This is in regards to the $5,000 check Mc Kinn bounced on Yory Boy Campas in 2004. Mc Kinn, has produced a receipt, allegedly forged, that states, Gabe Peg Leg Esqueda, gave Campas manager Joe Diaz $5,000 in cash! IF THIS IS TRUE FANSIf this document is NOT the forgery I suspect, why would Mc Kinn, offer $3,000, $5,000, $7,000, and then $10,000 to settle a bounced $5,000 check case, that they have a receipt for? Besides a court stenographer, the deposition will be videotaped. Speaking of Mc Kinn, those sponsors he took $42,000 for advertising at a show everal weeks ago, and then failed to even come up with tickets for them, or to post their perspective banners, they too have served Mc Kinn with court papers.
