BELLATOR KICKS OFF 2015 ON SPIKE TV
Los Angeles, CA– The Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, CA will host Bellator 132 , which will kick off a busy fight weekend of mixed martial arts. In the main event, featherweight (145 lbs.) star Patricio “Pitbull” Freire (22-2) will defend his Bellator belt against Daniel Strauss (22-5). Pitbull should win here, though Strauss is a solid challenger.
MORE FEATHERS DUEL IN CO-FEATURE
Georgi Karakhanyan (23-4-1) will lace them up versus Bubba Jenkins (8-1) in the chief support for the evening. Karakhanyan has the experience advantage and will be favored here.
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT (205) REMATCH ON THE CARD
Houston Alexander (16-10-1, 2 NC) will again face Virgil Zwicker (12-4-1) on the undercard. I thought the draw these two battled to in the first bout should have been a win for Alexander, thus he wins the rematch. As long as Alexander doesn’t do something stupid like losing a point for throwing a headbutt this time, he should win.
WELTERWEIGHT (170) CLASH OPEN UP MAIN CARD AT 9PM/6PM ETPT
Marius “The Whitemare” Zaromskis (28-8, 1 NC), who has one of the strangest nicknames I have seen in a long time, will face off with Fernando “The Menifee Maniac” Gonzalez (22-13) to open the card. I take that back, The Menifee Maniac may just be an even stranger nickname. Menifee is a very small town in California not really known for anything in particular, but apparently it breeds maniacs. I’m tempted to pick against “The Whitemare” to avoids any accusations of racism, but I think he will get the W.
