WITH KELLY PAVLIK A NO-SHOW, SHOWTIME CANCELS SHOW
New York, NY– In what was suppose to be another unusually busy summer weekend for the sport, due to yet another cancellation by former middleweight champion and admitted alcoholic Kelly Pavlik; mainstream action slows down a bit this weekend (thanks again Kelly as the entire Showtime card was scrapped). However, rest assured fight fans; the limited televised offering isn’t light on the punch.

ESPN RESCUES THE WEEKEND
Each installment of the decorated series “ESPN Friday Night Fights” features news, analysis of upcoming bouts, interviews, celebrity guests, and competitive scraps. This week’s card showcases a ruckus twin bill as unbeaten “T.V. friendly” charge Vernon Paris (24-0, 14 KOs) squares off against slick light welterweight (140) craftsmen Tim Coleman (19-1-1, 5 KOS) in a scheduled 10 round main event. In the opener; undefeated featherweight (126) Art Hovhannisyan (14-0-1, 8 KOs) steps up his level of opposition when he enters the right against former champion Cristobal Cruz (39-12-2, 23 KOS) over 10 rounds or less.
