THREE SEVENS WERE BAD LUCK FOR SUPER VIC
Tulsa, OK– Vic Darchinyan has come along way since his lone loss to Nonito Donaire on July 7, 2007. He was the comeback fighter of 2008 and has been on a roll since the night of 7-7-07. Many thought that the boxing skills of Christian Mijares would befuddle the Armenian Aussie last November, but it was Vic that was the befuddler. Not only is Darchinyan (31-1-1, 25 KOs) a dynamite puncher in a little package, he is a very awkward southpaw that makes him hard to figure out. He crouches and paws and without warning unleashes devastating straight left hands.
MIGHT NOT LET THE KIDS WATCH THIS ONE As long as he doesn’t get careless like he did in his fight with Nonito Donaire, I think this will be another massacre at the hands of Darchinyan. However, I would like to point out that Nonito Donaire deserves a lot of credit for the way he fought Vic. It wasn’t as if he knocked him out with that one spectacular shot and wasn’t in the fight, he was actually winning the fight. Kudos should be given to Donaire for beating the human wrecking machine that is Vic Darchinyan.
ARCE WILL BRING WHAT HE HAS…LEFT
As for Jorge Arce, yes he is exciting, but he is no Nonito Donaire and his best days are clearly behind him. Jorge (51-4-1, 39 KOs) has trouble with southpaws, Vic is a southpaw, Arce has been stopped twice, Vic is a power puncher, Arce has looked less than stellar as of late and is slowing down, and Darchinyan has been on a path of destruction and is just hitting his stride. Arce does however have some pop himself and Vic has been starched by Donaire. That being said, it will be a stretch for him to beat Vic. I see Vic taking it somewhere in the middle rounds and continues on with his destructive nature.
IS THIS DIAMOND REAL OR CUBIC ZIRCONIA?
The fight card will also feature Almazbek Raiymkulov (27-1-1, 15 KOs) who is better known as ”Kid Diamond,” in a fight against Antonio DeMarco (19-1-1, 13 KOs). Also on the under card undefeated prospect and fellow Armenian of Vic Darchiyan, Vanes Martirosyan will be put in easy against opponent Billy Lyle. “Kid Diamond” usually entertains and it will be interesting to see if Martirosyan is improving.
