WARD CONTINUES TO IMPRESS & IMPROVE
Oakland, CA– Andre Ward, 167.75, Oakland, CA UD 12 Allan Green, 166, Tulsa, OK (World/WBA 168 lb. title). After a cautious start by both fighters, Ward (22-0, 13 KOs) began to take over in round two, fighting on the inside effectively. Green (29-2, 20 KOs), who looked caught up by the moment, never really got going. Ward’s best round was the sixth round when he seemed to hurt a frozen Green. In the ninth round Green landed a hard uppercut but Ward shook it off to finish strong. After 12 dominating rounds Ward earned scores of 120-108 across the board.
