Saul Alvarez-Kermit Cintron

MEXICAN STAR CANELO IN “EASY” VS. CINTRON?

Los Angeles, CA– Boxing writers pride ourselves on our ability to service the casual and hard-nosed junkies with the best interest in executing an accurate summary between the bout featuring Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs Kermit Cintron. These two will do battle this Saturday, the 26th of November in Mexico City, MX for the WBC 154 lb. title. Kermit Cintron final taste of glory may have come in ’09 against then undefeated Alfredo Angulo with a (UD 12.) But seeing Angulo drove from the San Diego, CA area to Miami, FL in a car and arrived hours before the day before the fight weigh in, can we really put a lot of stock in that victory?

HOW GOOD IS KERMIT CINTRON ANYWAY?

So far Kermit has been more of a hermit with his lack of confidence, inconsistent work rate displayed against virtually unknown Carlos Molina in a disappointing loss, before rebounding with a decision win over an average Antwon Smith. Cintron seems to be a fighter re-examining his will and status as an elite prize fighter. Physically it is a demanding task for any individual to step into the ring. I believe Cintron, a wrestler long before he began boxing, at best has had a decent, but not great career and should call it day at the office if he can’t win this coming Saturday. The right hand he once possessed would instantaneously dispatch foes within mere seconds when come he connected. With less firepower at 154 and his reflexes, even in his prime were nothing to write home about, Kermit is not in an enviable position.

EMANUEL STEWARD: CINTRON’S A GREAT ATHLETE, NOT A GREAT FIGHTER!

When developing a gifted prizefighter, technique is the most important factor. The components that make an elite athlete are three simple ingredients: Athleticism, determination and self-belief. A supreme fighter can have an appearance of something special where fans can relate with only a language deemed for a pugilistic Casanova. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has his boyish charm along with an elegant bearing in a calm demeanor to obliterate his adversary’s. Now he’s not the second coming of ‘”Sugar Ray” Robinson or Ray Leonard. However Canelo has indicated he wants to hone his craft and has been maturing nicely in each outing. Alvarez has all the tools and more to defeat Cintron, but Kermit has shown he might be able to pull of a surprise when his career is on life support and in need of a pulse.

CANELO HAS A FULL TOOL BOX, KERMIT NOT SO MUCH!

Saul will begin with his piercing jab, followed with crackling right hands to the head of the challenger. Cintron will attempt to stalk and smother his opponent, while administering a body attack to invest into the later rounds. Rounds 3 and 4 will be more of the same with Canelo making hamburger meat of Cintron’s mug. The middle rounds will clearly show signs of Cintron unwillingness to participate in what to him will be lethal-leather exchanges. Canelo, has shown remarkable form as that of a destructive killer. Cintron, will begin to wilt under pressure, and if his heart is still in the fight he will simply take his beating like a man or simply succumb under the pressure inside of ten fistic frames.

WILL IT BE FLOYD MAYWEATHER & CANELO IN MAY?

One of the guys Floyd Mayweather has on his short list of opponents for May 5, 2012 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is none other than Saul Alvarez. Mayweather vs. Alvarez would be a great Cinco de Mayo main event, while Manny Pacquiao either looks for the intestinal fortitude to face Juan Manuel Marquez a fourth time, or will he, or should I say promoter Bob Arum, Tim Bradley. That being said, Mayweather-Alvarez is bigger than any fight Manny Pacquiao can have outside of his facing Floyd.
