AL HAYMON HBO FIGHT LOOKS LIKE TYPICAL HAYMON CARD-CHALK

U.S. Bank Arena, Cincinnati, OH– (HBO) Adrien Broner (21-0, 17 KOs) vs. Vicente Rodriguez (34-2-1, 19 KOs) (WBO 130 lb. title) Odds/Prediction: Broner 6-1. On paper, this is a total mismatch unless spoon fed Broner is a fraud!
Gary Russell (18-0, 10 KOs) vs. Heriberto Ruiz (48-11-2, 29 KOs) Odds/Prediction: Russell 5-1. Tough Mexican figures to lose #12 here!

HBO HAS FIGHTS IN MEXICO & OHIO

Mexico City, MX– (HBO) Saul Alvarez (38-0-1, 28 KOs) vs. Kermit Cintron (33-4-1, 28 KOs) (WBC 154 lb. title) Odds/Prediction: Alvarez 6-1. Cintron’s lost two of his last three, a one-fight win streak gets him a title shot! HBO with help here from WBC is killing competitive boxing and the game in general. Expect an Alvarez wn here, iff Saul doesn’t win handily, his stock value will plummet with everybody except HBO & WBC.

Los Mochis, MXJorge Arce (58-6-2, 45 KOs) vs. Angky Angkotta (25-5, 14 KOs) (vacant WBO 118 lb. title) Odds/Prediction:
Arce 7-1. Arce, if can make the weight in dropping from 122 to 118 lbs. 6-0-1 in last 7, Arce looks far superior, although he is aging!
Juan Rosas (35-6, 27 KOs) vs. Zolani Tete (15-1, 13 KOs) (IBF 115 lb. title eliminator) Odds/Prediction: Rosas 5-1. Mexican favorite lost to Cristian Mijares 4 fights ago. Three wins vs. “ham & eggers” don’t mean much. Still, Rosas a level better than South African. That and home field advantage compel me to lay $1,000 to win $200.

Trabzon, TurkeySelcuk Aydin (22-0, 17 KOs) vs. Ionut Ion (29-1, 18 KOs) Odds/Prediction: Aydin 6-5. Rematch of June 2010 Split Decision win for Aydin. It’s a toss up!
