In 1980, Arum, who had promoted Muhammad
off and on, was trying to get Ali a comeback title fight. But as is the case today, Arum has no play in the heavyweight division. As for Ali and facial hair, he had cut his lip badly and allowed a mustache to grow as he tried to get ready for the Larry Holmes fight October 2, 1980.
