IS MANNY PACQUIAO NOW ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN?
San Francisco, CA– Last week I told you how Manny Pacquiao’s fight with Floyd Mayweather was in further peril when his chief advisor Joe Konze when back to Manny Pacquiao and told him that Mayweather wanted Pacquiao to take less than a 50-50 split in the fight’s revenues and random drug testing and screening with no time limits. The Pacquiao fans were livid and went after Floyd in the blogosphere. Calling every name you might not imagine, the crazy contingent of the Manny Pacquiao following, again accused Mayweather of “ducking” their iconic countryman.
PACQUAIO SAYS HE WILL NOW TAKE LESS MONEY THAN MAYWEATHER
Quoted in a number of outlets over the weekend, Pacquiao stated that he would NOW take less than the 50% of the revenues for a fight with Floyd Mayweather. Say what? Filipinos going crazy as it is becoming clear to them that Floyd the businessman is better than Pacquiao the businessman. For if he was and fought Mayweather in March 2010 in stead of refusing random drug testing, Manny would be controlling the entire process of negotiating, now bowing to Floyd demands.
MANNY’S STOCK & POWER AT TABLE OF NEGOTIATION EVAPORATING?
Although I started to see Pacquiao’s star power taking a hit soon thereafter, nobody inside of Team Pacquiao could, and if they wanted to, refused to see it. If they couldn’t fight Floyd, Manny would opt instead to fight Joshua Clottey. Antonio Margarito, here his reputation took a slight hit. When he faced Shane Mosley, his stock value began a negative slide because instead of looking superhuman, Manny looked humanely beatable. Then Juan Manuel Marquez exposed Manny for his being a sucker for a counterpuncher, something Mayweather does at least 10% times better than the smaller Marquez.
PRESSURE AT HOME LIKE GETTING STUCK IN EYE WITH NEEDLE
With people all over the Philippines asking him ten times a day why isn’t he facing Floyd Mayweather, even Manny has gotten tired of being promoter Bob Arum’s puppet, “I’ll fight anybody my promoter puts me in the ring with.” In response, people started looking back at Pacquiao with optics more obvious than “Clarence the Cross Eyed Lyon.” The pressure of being Manny Pacquiao sans Floyd Mayweather is too much for Manny to handle at home. Had this gone on for a few months and one fight, both of these fighters would splitting everything 50-50, all the while Manny would be probably sitting in the drivers seat.

So, without taking credit for seeing and writing about this many months prior, I will pass on that. But I do ask you one thing, remember who told you that Manny not fighting a rusty Mayweather in March 2010 would come back and kick him in the ass. With Pac willing to accept something between 40 & 45% of the gross revenues, Manny has allegedly said that he would adhere to the random drug testing Mayweather went through with both of his fights with Shane Mosley and Victor Ortiz, nothing seems to be standing in the way of Pacquiao-Mayweather might be Pac’s promoter Bob Arum.
