Uncasville, CT– TKO Boxing Promotions headed by promoter Chester Koerner and matchmaker Chris Middendorf make their promotional debut at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT. this evening with an NABF twin title bill. The main event has the pride of Providence, RI Peter Manfredo Jr. (33-6, 18 KOs) facing Matt Vanda (42-9, 22 KOs) who hails from Saint Paul, MN for the vacant NABF middleweight (160 lb) belt. The co-feature is a rematch as NABF featherweight (126) champion Matt Remillard (20-0, 11 KOs) from nearby Hartford defends against Dominican Rafael Lora (11-1, 5 KOs) who lives in Irvington, NJ.
Manfredo Jr. has vanquished the badly faded Frankie Randall (TKO 7), Scott Pemberton (TKO 3), and contender Joe Spina (TKO 3). His notable losses are to Sergio Mora (UD 7, SD 8), Jeff Lacy (UD 10), and retired undefeated legend Joe Calzaghe (TKO 3). Vanda, a tough veteran of over 50 fights, is mostly known for his two losses to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the first a highly disputed SD 10, the second a UD 10. As for Vanda, he always comes prepped for battle.
In the second title fight, Remillard defends against the inexperienced Lora, whose only loss (TKO 4) was a bid for the vacant diadem in their first encounter.
CHICKS WILL DO BATTLE AS WELL
As a special attraction females Adelita Irizarry (6-3, 2 KOs) and Philly’s Rachel Clark (4-3-1, 3 KOs) will duke it out over six-two minute rounds. The rest of the undercard will have undefeated Worcester, MA. native Edwin Rodriguez (13-0, 9 KOs) facing Californian Byron Tyson (9-1-2, 4 KOs) in a scheduled six rounder. Also scheduled for 6 will be Canadian Arash Usmanee (4-0, 2 KOs) versus Carl McNickles (6-3, 6 KOs) out of Mississippi. A slew of four round scraps open the card.
