TYSON A PUGILISTIC PROFESSOR

San Francisco, CA– When it comes to boxing history, there are few fighters in history with the pugilistic acumen of Mike Tyson. When he was brought into the game by trainer/mentor and co-manager Cus D’Amato, within months Tyson was so into pugilistic history that he was reciting boxing dates and history with the skill of a Baptist preacher quoting the Bible.

ACLIMATION NOT EASY FOR TROUBLED KID

Never timid, Tyson was incredibly naive about the world after being plucked out of Brooklyn by D’Amato. Although Mike was quick to grasp boxing as a sport, that did not mean Tyson the “hoodlum” had fully retired. It would take a while, but after a few scrapes with authorities, and famed former-trainer Teddy Atlas pulling a gun on Mike for being sexually assertive with his sister, the boxer was able to better understand the world.

LIFE NOT EASY FOR EX-CHAMPION

Since the 2006 retirement fight with Kevin McBride, Tyson has had his share of emotional ups and downs, but nothing hurt worse than his daughter dying in his Arizona home after getting her body caught up in a exercise machine. For a while, I thought Tyson would do something extreme, and I thought he could even be contemplating suicide

DEATH OF CHILD IN HOME “HEART BREAKING”

Sinking into a state of Depression, Mike went back to Pigeons, Reality TV, and yet he said nothing could ease his pain like marijuana and cocaine. The white powder AKA Colombian Dust, had Mike on the ropes as it wasn’t that long before he was talking bout drugs, death, and the need to quit. Word has it Tyson has curtailed his drug and alcohol use, that his life is back under control.

COMPANY MAKING IT & THE “MIKE TYSON MYSTERIES” ON TV

Iron Mike Productions has put on some good shows on ESPN2 and a new animated series entitled “Mike Tyson Mysteries” airs Sunday nights at 11:30 PM ET on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim time block.

TYSON HAS “LOFTY” SPOT IN SPORTS HISTORY!

In closing, Tyson was the greatest of his era, something few mortals will ever accomplish or realize in their lifetimes. On a list of personal accomplishments, that is significant. As for his personal life, Mike seems to have gotten that on track as well. At the end of the day, Mike Tyson was a great fighter and a decent human being.  Although he died beforehand, that’s really all his first trainer Cus D’Amato wanted for Tyson after he won the heavyweight championship, to live a productive and seemingly normal life.  In 2015, it looks like Mike Tyson has accomplished that and a bit more!
