LAWSUIT FILED MONTHS AGO BEING PUSHED NOW!
San Francisco, CA– The “slander/libel” lawsuit that Manny Pacquiao filed against Oscar De La Hoya and “the brains” of his Golden Boy Promotions firm, Richard Schaffer, the seemingly frivolous suit has not been in the news much of late. With Pacquiao winning a seat in the Philippine Congress and Floyd Mayweather playing with Manny’s mind, one can wonder if the two combined to give him a stomach ulcer that led to his recent hospitalization?
MANNY MAD OVER SOMETHING OR NOTHING?
Unless you’ve been under a rock for months, Pacquiao, quite possibly the best fighter in boxing, and Mayweather, quite possibly the best boxer in boxing, they’ve been sparring verbally for most of 2010. Floyd wants Manny to agree to “random testing” by a recognized anti-doping agency, Pacquiao says he’s offended by the suggestion of a need for testing him.
ENTER OSCAR & SIR RICHARD
Oscar and Schaffer have stated publicly that they were of the opinion that Manny has used “performance enhancing drugs.” De La Hoya, who faced two men on steroids, Fernando Vargas and Shane Mosley, he might have an insight to a guy being on some form of juice.
PEOPLE CONFUSE STEROIDS & EPO
Having been guilty of this myself, Erythropoietin, EPO is a glycoprotein hormone that controls erythropoiesis, or red blood cell production that everyone produces. When EPO is used as a performance-enhancing drug, it is classified as an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent. Exogenous EPO can often be detected in blood, due to slight difference from the endogenous protein.
WHAT DOES EPO DO FOR YOU?
You can train much longer than a super athlete not on EPO, recover much faster because you have a significant advantage in number of red blood cells, AKA more oxygen, some say 40% more in your blood than a non EPO user. When Shane Mosley was performing remarkably in the later rounds against Oscar De La Hoya in their drug-tainted rematch, he did so with the aid of EPO.
CHANGED FROM A BUTTERFLY TO A CATERPILLAR
Speaking of Mosley, did you notice the reverse-metamorphosis of Shane Mosley from the Antonio Margarito fight and his recent effort vs. Floyd Mayweather? Mosley changed from an adroit butterfly against Marga-cheato into a slow crawling caterpillar against Floyd. According to sports drug expert Victor Conte, he was of the opinion Shane looked like a guy who had used EPO for Margarito and didn’t (or couldn’t) for Mayweather.
MANNY LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF DRUGS & SPORTS OF LATE
When baseball players were hitting 70 home runs a year, guys like Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Mark McGwire, they were in baseball what Manny is today in boxing, either #1 or damn close to it. As history has proven, the super human efforts of these three men were not because they were from Krypton, as most believed, that they were all Superman, it was because they were using performance-enhancing drugs! Hello, they were cheating!
MY TESTING PROCEDURE FOR MANNY & FLOYD
In the history of the sport no Asian fighter has ever captured the worldwide popularity of Manny Pacquiao. That being said, this doesn’t mean he gets a free pass on testing. It’s time for Manny to drop the lawsuits, agree to daily urine tests and random blood tests. The “random” daily urine tests and an occassional but unannounced blood test, if Manny Pacquiao isn’t hiding something, then agree to this and we have a fight in November!
