Both Manfredo (34-6, 18 KOs) and Vanda (42-10, 22 KOs) fought at a slow a pace for the first two rounds. Manfredo Jr. picked it up late in the 3rd. With Vanda counterpunching effectively at times this fight was even through five. A tiring Vanda was dropped late in the sixth from a body shot. From then on Manfredo Jr. was in control as Vanda was tired but game, as he took the tenth. The final tally was 100-89 twice and 99-90. (fight was closer than the scores.)
Arash Usmanee, 130.25, Alberta, Canada UD 5 Jorge Ruiz, 135, Miami, FL. Both Usmanee (5-0, 2 KOs) and Ruiz (7-11-1, 0 KO) “fought” at a distance, missing most punches for three rounds. Things picked up in the fourth when Usmanee hit the canvas, erroneously called a slip by the referee. With the crowd booing loudly the fight was mercifully waived off because of an accidental head butt at 2:40 of round five. Scores were 48-47, 50-45 and 49-45.
Matt Remillard, 124.75, Hartford, CT. TKO 3 Rafael Lora, 125.75, Irvington, NJ. Remillard (21-0, 12 KOs) and Lora (11-2, 5 KOs) went toe to toe right away. Remillard had Lora backing up in the 2nd round as Lora’s corner called for the Doctor to check a possible rib injury. The fight came to an anticlimactic end after the third round when Lora’s corner called it a night.

Rachel Clark, 137.75, Fayetteville, NC. SD 6 Adelita Irizarry, 143.5, Hartford, CT. The southpaw Irizarry (6-4, 2 KOs) and Clark (5-3-1, 3 KOs) put on an all action, as is usually the norm when women fight. A wide open Irizarry was down in the fourth round and visibly tired, the crowd was the real winner. Scores: 57-56 for Irizarry and 58-55, 57-56 for Clark.
Joseph Perez, 132, Hartford, CT. MD 4 Luis Quezada, 131.25, Caguas, Puerto Rico. Perez (3-0, 1 KO) an obvious crowd favorite boxed well throughout this four rounder. A feisty Quezada (1-2, 0 KO) was just as good and deserved at least a draw, but lost on scores of 38-38, 39-37 twice in favor of Perez.
J’Leon Love, 165.25, Detroit, MI. KO 1 Vince Burkhalter, 163.25, New Orleans, LA. Love (1-0, 1 KO) looked sharp while knocking down twice and eventually out Burkhalter (0-3, 0 KO) at 1:33 in the 1st round.
Joseph Elegele, 144, Melbourne, FL. KO 1 Chris Russel, 142, Shaddock, OK. Elegele (3-0, 2 KOs) takes out Russel (1-1, 0 KO) at 1:26 of the 1st round.
