HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION NO LONGER CONTROLS SPORT
San Francisco, CA– The line that has almost always applied to the sport/business of boxing is that, “he who controls the heavyweight champion, controls the sport.” We have seen in certain instances where lighter fighters like “Sugar Ray” Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, and most recently Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather garner far more attention than Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko can together as a pair! Why?
THEY’RE WHITE, BRIGHT, SO WHAT’S MISSING?
So I ask the $64,000 question, why is it no major TV entity outside of Germany and some parts of Europe, haling and then airing this as being for the “world’s heavyweight championship?” If they are so good, how come their fights are on about the same excitement level as spending 45 minutes in front of your ant farm?
DOES “RACE” PLAY A PART?
One would think that if the bros. Klitschko were black, they’d be even less popular. So why can’t they play the race card? How come the Butterbean, the farm folk and the white power contingent, how come they aren’t backing the two pale faced prizefighters? Are they not white enough?
IS IT BECAUSE VITALI’S DINING ON “POLISH SAUSAGE?
No, the fact that the unknown Pole is a nondescript foe, this doesn’t seem to be the reason the Klitschko-Sosnowki fight couldn’t get on HBO or Showtime. Could it be that the style of fighting displayed by the bros. Klitschko is so un-entertaining that even network executives have removed the name Klitschko from their roladex?
IF IT IS SO, WHY DO THEY SUCK?
I’ve presented the questions, you provide the answers.
