Phoenix, AZ– Got a call a few minutes ago from Carole Taft, the ex-wife of professional boxer Freeman Taft, she was close with Joe Diaz, a local trainer and owner of the Top Level Boxing Gym here in town. Apparently, last night, Diaz, 72 years old, suffered a heart attack at the gym. He is currently in St. Joseph’s Hospital and they are telling me that his brain is unresponsive.

With Top Rank promoter Peter McKinn in his second week of wearing pink underwear for Sheriff Joe, this after forging, committing perjury, attacking myself and others in public, all the while he had conspired with the Arizona Boxing Commission to ruin Joe Diaz’s professional life, taking away his license for some six years because he fingered McKinn, who was in bed with Boxing Commissioner Mary Rose Wilcox and Commission head John Montano, it seemed that Joe had secured his first victory, incarcerating McKinn, and was well on his way to netting millions of dollars for himself, boxer “Yory Boy” Campas, and the others who were ruined by this cartel of crooks that all had worked with or for promoter Bob Arum, Top Rank chieftain.

After scolding Diaz on the phone early last week for popping off when he was about to secure a huge monetary victory, including a $43 million claim against that the state of Arizona that has not been contested, I called him Saturday and again explained to him the need for him to just shut the **** up. He understood, told me he loved me and thanked me for throwing my career in the toilet strictly out of principles, that being the fact that Top Rank had financially sodomized Campas. There are bout sheets where it appears the purse amount was changed from $1 million to $100,000, this for his fight with Oscar De La Hoya. There was also the $10,000 post fight urine test that they took out of Campas’ check, and this was all apparently approved by the Nevada Athletic Commission, who were the entity that paid Campas after the fight with Oscar. That and the Genaro Hernandez news, this has put me in a downward emotional spiral.

Ruined and run out of boxing by Arizona not giving him a license for six years, Joe recently returned at 72 to being a full time plumber. When I asked him why, he said, “Pedro, I have to eat.” Bob Arum, there were several lives that you or cronies acting under the Top Rank banner ruined. I don’t know if you being Jewish you believe in heaven or hell, but you allowed people under your umbrella to commit professional murder. Bob, we’ve been through a lot, some good, some bad, but you need to reach out to the victims here and compensate them, out of principle, for you’ve surely got the coinage, but do you have the courage? In closing, If there is a God, please intervene for these tow fine men, Genaro Hernandez and Joe Diaz.
