AFTER BEATING DEATH, HUMANS NOT THAT IMPOSING

Danny "KO" Jacobs

Danny “KO” Jacobs

San Francisco, CA– Although knocking out previously unbeaten Peter Quillin was quite an accomplishment, it only added to the real story that had Danny Jacobs (31-1, 28 KOS) not KO’d the champion of evil, Cancer, there would have been no Quillin fight!

CANCER KILLER LEFT “NO DOUBT” IN MY MIND

Jacobs, a product of Brownsville now residing in Brooklyn, needed just 85 seconds to take the 12-5 betting favorite out. And while some will “squawk” about the referee’s stoppage, you didn’t hear a peep from Quillin. Never ultra-impressive, I felt Peter (32-1-1, 23 KOs) was smothered with undeserved accolades since day one. Larry Merchant had a “problem” with him not attempting to make weight vs. Andy Lee (Draw 12) two fights back. “The real Kid Chocolate is rolling over,” said Larry.

LEE-SAUNDERS VICTOR & BLACKS DISS GOLOVKIN

Jacobs has indicated he will seek the winner of the December 19th Andy Lee-Billy Joe Sanders WBO 160 lb. tilt in Manchester, UK. Interestingly enough, I didn’t see Jacobs calling out the people’s champion Gennady Golovkin. An overwhelming majority of boxing fans think “GGG” is the man. Another tidbit of interest, Black fans, a good number of them they are not yet sold on Golovkin.

WBC, ET AL TO FORCE “GGG” & CANELO?

Although he is basking in the glory of deposing linear champ Miguel Cotto, Canelo Alvarez, I don’t think he’s in any hurry to fight Golovkin. What is perceived by most to be a “No Win” situation for the Mexican, except financially, Canelo could lose to Floyd Mayweather and not face the risk of permanent impairment. The same cannot be said as “GGG” destroys opposition.
