PACMAN GETTING LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE IN GYM

Los Angeles, CA– Having confirmed what has been running rampant on many a website, Manny Pacquiao has been getting his head handed to him in sparring. The Filipino phenom, on one hell of a roll seeing he’s dusted Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton in two most recent outings, these wins “suspect” to a degree, may have expanded Manny’s hat size. The sparring partners, Shawn Porter (10-0, 8 KOs) and Urbano Antillon (25-1, 19 KOs). And while Porter fights above 150, Urbano is a lightweight (135 lbs). Both men are beating on Manny like a drum!

BRING IN A SLOW OLD MEXICAN? THAT SHOULD MAKE MANNY LOOK GOOD!

The Pacquiao camp is bringing in former lightweight champ Jose Luis Castillo (60-9, 52 KOs). Having always been of the opinion that Manny needs somebody to stand right in front of him to win, and that he’s avoided fighting men that have a Black style, in that they can move in and out and box on their toes, the licking he’s been getting by Porter seems to bolster that notion. In Castillo, who hasn’t won a significant fight sans controversy in many years, is about as old and slow as one can get.

HOW CAN ONE QUESTION THE WINS OVER OSCAR & RICKY?

Because De La Hoya, 35 at the time of last years match, old for a prizefighter who has been fighting in the upper echelons of boxing, hadn’t made 147 lbs. since a 2001 fight with the late Arturo Gatti. In addition, the manner in which De La Hoya tok the weight off, being near or at 147 weeks in advance, was one of the dumbest moves when it comes to making weight since Ray Leonard agreed to a same day 8 AM weigh in for the last bout of his career with Hector Camacho in 1997, this after having not fight in better than six years. As for Hatton, he simply had no respect for Pacquiao, walking in with his hands down and inviting the phenom to simply punch away, much like William Joppy did with Felix Trinidad when he was faced with a boxer ascending in weight.

PACMAN HAS BITTEN OFF TOO MUCH THIS TIME!

The more someone looks at the Miguel Cotto-Manny Pacquiao fight, the more you realize that Cotto is bigger, stronger, and punches harder than the resident of General Santos City in the Philippines. Although the fight is still a month away, all of the intangibles present do not cast a positive eye on Pacquiao’s chances against the Puerto Rican. If I had to predict a winner today, it would be Cotto by KO!
