ONE LAST TILT & BOXING’S “VOICE” OF 2011 GOES SILENT FOR A BIT

For the past several months, the decorated series “ESPN Friday Night Fights” has kicked off the boxing weekend in emphatic fashion. More often then not, there were highlight reel knockouts and wars of epic proportions; prompting this year’s offerings of fistic savagery to go down as one of the most brutal seasons in the history of the franchise. For those out there new to the series, each episode features news, analysis of upcoming bouts, interviews, celebrity guests, and competitive scraps. This week’s main event features reality T.V.’s “Contender” star  Grady Brewer (28-12, 16 KOs) standing opposite of unbeaten power punching charge Demetrius Andrade (13-0, 9 KOs) over 10 scheduled rounds of light middleweight (154) action at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. The co-featured bout showcases an intriguing 10 round match up between former WBC lightweight (135) belt holder David Diaz (36-3-1, 17 KOs) against battled tested savvy veteran Henry Lundy (20-1-1, 10 KOs). Televised coverage begins at 9 PM ET on ESPN 2.

Note: WBA super middleweight (168) champion Andre Ward will co-host.
