DID BOS MORPH BACK INTO JOHN BOSDALE?
San Francisco, CA– If there ever was a person who could pull off faking his own death, it would have to require a great amount of secrecy. Matchmaker Johnny Bos, a possible Hall of Fame guy who will never get the props because he worked the underbelly of boxing for decades, coming up with champs like Paulie Malignaggi and Joey Gamache, who by the way were the last two guys Johnny guided through the “house of mirrors” that involves building a fighter into a top contender and or champion.

After countless late nights/early mornings on the phone with Bos, I can tell you that he could have never faked his own death, because as I alluded to earlier, to pull that off would require a great deal of secrecy and the ability to live off the grid of life per se. Although he was adept at making fights in the Big Apple and living on a New York City diet of hamburgers and Coca Cola for years, Johnny was sometimes the worst person in boxing when it came to keeping secrets. He wasn’t malicious (for the most part), but if you knew he knew something, you could usually keep him on the phone and eventually he would feel compelled to tell you.

I’ve been getting emails from Johnny’s old Flicker account, asking me to look at new pictures he is supposed to have posted after his May 11, death in Florida. While I realize that a lot of people are forgotten once they check out, I treasure being part of some of the “Bos Chronicles” as did just about everybody who was in his inner sanctum. Did Johnny Bos fake his death? I only wish he had! No chicanery here folks, unfortunately Johnny Bos really has left the building and I miss him!
