Boxing fantatics and insiders knew of Matthysse’s potential, but now thge masses are enamored with the “search & destroy” mode that the 140 lb. rage is in from beginning to end.

Although I’m of the opinion, and I was there, that the Tax Day fight of April 15, 1985 between Marvin Hagler and Tommy Hearns has been over trumped as being the greatest three rounds ever, given the “will & punching power” of Matthysse, this is enough to make his bout with Philadephian Danny Garcia the Hagler-Hearns of the 21st century.

While I’m of the opinion that Garcia will want to box and stay out of the “danger” zone that is any distance in which Lucas can land. What Garcia wants and Danny gets, well, that’ll end up being two different things as there will be a rightous changing of the guard come September. Looks like a better figjht than Floyd Mayweather-Saul Alvarez. Not that I’m saying Danny has no chance, that’s not true. But to echo promoter Don King, Garcia’s chances are “Slim & none” and Slim just left town.
