SHOWTIME GOT A BANGER FOR YA’
New York, NY– This summer’s hot schedule of fistic action continues to blaze this weekend. First, let’s check out the featured card of interest. In a special addition of the critically acclaimed series “ShoBox,” the “suits” at Showtime provide fans with an intriguing night of pugilistic warfare head lined by colorful (but highly in active) IBF jr. middleweight (154 lb) belt holder Cornelius “K-9” Bundrage (31-4, 18 KOs) attempting to defend the trophy he won from former strap carrier Cory “Next Generation” Spinks (39-6, 11 KOs) in a proposed 12 rounds of championship pound. In the co-feature, exciting heavy handed featherweight (126) prospect Gary Russell Jr. (19-0, 11 KOs) takes on unheralded Mexican pug Christopher Perez (23-2, 14 KOs) in slated 10 frame affair.
LARA LOOKING TO MAKE STATEMENT
On tap in the opener, one of boxing’s most talented and avoided battlers: Erislandy Lara (16-1-1, 11 KOs) engages tough as nails jr. middleweight (154) scrapper Freddie Hernandez (30-2, 20 KOs) in a maximum 10 round tilt. Televised action from the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California begins at 9 PM ET on Showtime.
ESPN JOINT

Each installment of the decorated show features news, analysis of upcoming bouts, interviews, celebrity guests offering insight into the world of boxing, and competitive scraps. This week’s card showcases electrifyingly devastating power puncher Ruslan Provodnikov (21-1, 14 KOs) squaring off opposite of feather fistic combatant Jose Reynoso (16-3-1, 3 KOs) for 10 or less jr. welterweight (140) rounds from the Omega Products International Arena in Corona, California, Friday at 10:30 PM ET on ESPN 2.
