Ring Talk (RT) – We hope our next guest will be a future champion. At 27-0, 24 KOs he is our Americam hope to end this Klitschko disaster that is ruling the heavyweight division I’m talking about Chris Areolla. Chris, a very big “Ring Talk Radio” welcome to you sir.
Chris Arreola (CA) – Hey what’s goin’ on? RT – Life treating you OK Chris? CA – Aw hell no man, not right now!
RT -.Why? CA – We’re in the middle of training camp man, life is hard, life is tough man. You know I can’t complain.
RT – How tough is life? What’s it like? Take us through your day, what’s your morning like? What time do you get up? CA – I wake up around 12 o’clock, I have a burrito, drink a beer nah but seriously man…
RT – The reason I’m glad you brought that up, the reason I’m glad cuz people make cracks about your weight. People in the blogosphere, other so called boxing writers, things like that wanna rag on you about your weight. You brought up the burrito and the beer, obviously you were jesting no take us thru your day what’s it like.
CA – No honestly I wake up around 7 in the morning. Um I gotta go to Henry’s apartment. Henry and Darrell, which Darrell my strength conditioning coach, he’ll cook breakfast. I eat breakfast, come back let it digest for a little bit and I say by 9 o’clock we hit the road man. We do alot of strength conditioning, like alot of work with the bands, alot of football drills you know just to work on my legs, my stance alot, alot of the medicine ball. Um, I like weight training but like lately work is work. You know my stamina and explosiveness. I want to be able to be explosive and follow thru with my jab and all my punches and waist movement.
RT – September 26th he’ll be taking on Vitali Klitschko. The story was broken on my website check out the date and time ringtalk.com, I kid you not but of course vitali klitschko, I watched Danny Williams struggle with him like 4 or 5 tears ago and Danny Williams wasn’t a whole lot, they say you’re an underdog I think you’re one hell of a live underdog. What is vitali klitschhko, what does he bring to the dance other than being big does he have any ability.
CA – Vitali Klitschko there’s a reason why he’s a champion you know. He makes other fighters fight his fight you know. Other people say I’m gonna do this and I’m gonna do that but the thing about it is the guys he’s fought against their not that type of pressure fighter. That’s what I’m gonna bring to the table, it’s not what he brings, it’s what I’ll bring and that’s balls to the wall action.
RT – Being a former fighter myself when I look at vitali klitschko a big tall guy like that I think he’s open for a big looping overhand right, what do you think about that. Am I picking apart your strategy? I mean he’s a sucker for that, he’s right there, his chin, he doesn’t move his head around or nothing like that. He’s just a big dufus is my point and I think you have a hell of a shot September 26th. But let’s talk about the rest of heavyweight division, vitali is like 37-2 and of course both of those losses somewhat controversial with 36 kayos, his brother are 53-3 knocked out in the 3 losses and 47 kayos. David Haye, Nikolai Valuev, Ruslan Chegaev, Alexander Povietkin am I mentioning anybody here that you have any concern for.
CA – No but when you mention the top heavyweights you also have to mention Kevin Johnson he just stepped up the ranks and of course chazz Witherspoon. I mean not chazz, I’m sorry I apologize, I m talking about fast Eddie chambers.
RT – Ok.
CA – You know that guy went to Germany and took care of business so he has to be mentioned with the top heavyweights. But I believe the title is coming back to the United States and will be here to stay for a while.
RT – History, this is going to be an historic event of course a Mexican American challenging for the world heavyweight championship, I don’t think there’s ever been a serious Mexican American or Mexican contender for the world heavyweight championship has there, do you know.
CA – As far as I know, not as far as, not to the level that I’ve been. Honestly people are calling me a long shot, but I don’t consider myself a long shot. I think I’m a safe bet.
RT – Hmm.. We’re talking to Chris Areolla, of course the top ranked contender as far as Americans are concerned and he’ll be taking on Vitali Klitschko September 26th down at the Staples Centre on HBO for the WBC heavyweight title. We think he is a live underdog, we don’t think he should be an underdog going for the title of course. The oddsmakers don’t think so, the oddsmakers have him about 2 ½ to 3 to 1 underdog. Do you think those odds are a little long Chris or what? You gonna make some money, bet on yourself or what?
CA – Hell yeah I’m gonna bet money on myself, you know I am! If I don’t bet money on myself, you know I gotta believe in myself. I know I’m coming to the ring to fight. I’m not in the ring just to get paid, you know the only reason I’m in the ring to get paid is to collect my bet.
RT – We have an e-mail from Herb and he says, “Hey champ how are you going to take away that right hand from Klitschko?”
CA – The thing about his right hand, he has a great right hand but the thing is I have to take his jab and his jab is what leads you to the right hand. If yogi notice he paws at you and guides you to the right hand and people just fall into the right hand..
RT -.Who is the better one of the two Vitali or Wladimir, or is there a difference between the two brothers?
CA – Umm, there is a difference between the two. One is more of a technical fighter with no balls and one has more balls and just a straight out fighter.

CA – There is not going to be any Malignaggi controversy. This fight is not going to go the full 12 rounds. This fight is going to be a water cooler talk kind of fight. This is a classic you’re going to want to tivo and watch it over and over again. You know and I know I’m 100% positive that this fight is going to be the most exciting fight of the heavyeights this year.

September 26th and come September 27th there will be a new WBC Heavyweight Champion of the world. His name is Chris Areolla and of course he comes from southern California.
