UFC LEGEND SHAMROCK LOSES…..AGAIN

Ken Shamrock, the man that helped make MMA what it is today, lost another fight to a guy with a 10-16-1 record in Mike Bourke on November 27. Shamrock, a UFC champion of iconic proportions, blew his knee out in a fight he was winning in South Africa. Having won only three of his last 12 scraps, Kenny really needs to get a TV job analyzing MMA or go back to pro wrestling. But the wrestling schedule would probably be too tough on his body at 46.

UFC FIGHTER THAT ROBBED UK BANK GETS 25 YEARS

In 2006, Leo Murray and his friends robbed an English bank of zillions of British Pounds. Murray was a fairly well touted MMA fighter from the UK that the UFC had more than a little interest in him. Having fought one UFC fight, Murray couldn’t get a Visa to the US because of prior skirmishes with the law. Murray, jailed in Morocco because the Moroccan’s wouldn’t extradite, originally got 10 years, but recently they tagged on another 15. If he’s got some money still and some security measures were in place prior to the escape from the UK, Murray might be able to walk away from this with a few bucks still in hand should the Moroccan’s let him out anytime soon. Murray’s claim to fame is going three rounds and being competitive with UFC middleweight (185 lbs) champ Anderson Silva in 2004.

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar

LESNAR COULD GET $3 MILLION FOR WRESTLEMANIA

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is who Vince McMahon wants as his Floyd Mayweather or Donald Trump celebrity type for Wrestlemania 2011. UFC czar Dana White, the mouth that roars and the face of the Ultimate Fighting Championships, it might not be smart for him to allow ratings king Lesnar to be involved with any pro wrestling. Lesnar’s role would be something like a special referee. The reason why Vince McMahon wants/needs Lesnar is that he has few if any big stars at the top healthy. Mania’s big star, the Undertaker is off after surgery and won’t be back in time to defend his mythical streak of 17 or 18 straight wins at Wrestlemania, Shawn Michaels has retired, Randy Orton isn’t enough, Wade Barrett is not ready and Shame-us is just shameful. Watching McMahon’s empire start to crumble, his PPV numbers are down 32%, as are other economic indicators, this doesn’t induce any tears here.

BOB SAPP: MORES SIT UPS OR DID HE TAKE DIVE?

Former pro football flop turned MMA freak show attraction Bob Sapp lost a kickboxing fight that same night as Shamrock in the UK where he took one knee to the gut and was done in 45 seconds. Seems a little suspect to me seeing Sapp, a nearly 400 lb. tub of lard who made a lot of money fighting and doing commercials in Japan, already had a MMA fight set for one week later or December 4.

STRIKEFORCE TO HAVE SYNDICATED WEEKLY SHOW

Nobody can ever accuse Strikeforce head Scott Coker of “moving too fast.” He has a company that puts on decent fights but suffers as an unrecognized product brand. Strikeforce, headquartered in San Jose, CA, will soon start airing a weekly TV show in syndication. But as Dave “The Brain” Meltzer, the best writer in the world bar none, of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (great publication highlighting MMA) said that the Strikeforce show is likely to get lost in the shuffle seeing there is a plethora of MMA programs on cable TV today. The best is with Bas Ruten on HD Net.

MTV STAR KILLED AT GEORGIA NIGHT CLUB RIGHT AFTER TWEETING!

One of the characters in the lame MTV 2 series “Luche Libre,” Chris Long, a 375 pounder who played a donut eating good guy, was killed while working as a bouncer in Shooters Alley, an Atlanta, GA strip club. Early in the evening, Long had to throw three guys out for being inappropriate with the girls. Long then goes on Twitter and says, “Three ass*oles just got jobbed out to three bouncers.” The three came back at about 5:30 AM with guns and killed Long.
