Looking at the unbeaten Jessie Vargas of Coachella, CA, one can see that he has skills. The only drawback on the resume of the 26 year old is his number of knockouts, nine in 26 wins. In his most recent fight, Vargas turned back IBF 140 lb. guy Antonio Demarco on points.
EXPECT BRADLEY TO “WORK THE BODY”
Another tidbit is that Wale Omotoso (25-2-1, 21 KOs) dropped Vargas in a losing effort with a left hand to the body a few fights back. Besides trying to win the battle of the jabs by “timing” the taller Vargas, Tim will be looking to work “below and around” Jessie’s left elbow.
LACK OF POWER MEANS TIM TO “WALK HIM DOWN
Bradley (31-1-1, 12 KOs) at 31 years of age is also right handed and like Vargas, lacks the power to put guys away. But at 5’6 1/2 to Vargas’ 5’10, the key to victory for Bradley will be getting in close and working away.
FIGHT BOILS DOWN TO THIS
If Bradley cannot get close, Vargas will serve Tim that left jab for breakfast, lunch and dinner too! Although both of these world class fighters are upper echelon, I’m not 95 % sold on Bradley, but I like him here. That being said, I think this is where the Vargas “0” says adios!
