Is Broner Boxing’s Next Superstar?

New York, NY- One week removed from Danny Garcia’s scintillating upset knockout victory over Amir Khan, boxing’s busy summer schedule heats up again with a plethora of action. First, let’s take a look at the featured bout of the weekend!
HBO GOES FOR THIRD STRAIGHT WEEK!
By airing fistic fireworks in three consecutive weeks, the “suits” at HBO return the network to it’s “roots” bringing us multiple cards within a single month. This time around; heavy handed and slick WBO jr. lightweight (130) belt holder Adrien “The Problem” Broner (23-0, 19 KOs) challenges seven year veteran of the game Vicento Escobedo (26-3, 15 KOs) for a scheduled 12 rounds of throw down at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, Saturday at 10 PM ET on HBO. The under card will have devastatingly powerful “new kid on the block” at 154 lbs Keith Thurman (17-0, 16 KOs) lacing ‘em up against vapid scrapper Orlando Lora (29-2-2, 19 KOs) in a possible 10 rounds of action.
HBO’S NEXT BIG STAR OR BIG BUST? A CLOSER LOOK A BRONER

It’s no secret that HBO Sports is trying to promote Adrien Broner as the next Flyod Mayweather Jr. or new Roy Jones Jr. While Adrien does resemble their charismatic personalities outside of the ring, inside of the ring, Broner hasn’t emulated or garnered the accolades of their storied careers. Albeit, to Adrien’s credit, he has passed every test put in front of him to this point and has looked highly impressive in doing so by displaying a wonderful hybrid of speed, athleticism, ring intellect and power.
SHOWTIME’S IN THE MIX TOO
After a few weeks in hibernation, the critically acclaim series “ShoBox” returns with an intriguing tiff showcasing promising up and coming lightweight (135) Art Hovhannisyan (14-0-2, 8 KOs) pitted against former strap carrier Miguel Acosta (29-5-3, 23 KOs) in a proposed 10 rounds of pound at the Chumash Casino & Resort in Santa Ynez, California, Friday at 11 PM ET on Showtime.
ESPN JOINT
As per usual, the popular fight series “ESPN Friday Night Fights” kicks off the boxing weekend. Each installment of the decorated show features news, analysis of upcoming bouts, interviews, celebrity guests offering insight into the world of boxing, and competitive scraps. This week’s card has a solid main event when unbeaten jr. lightweight (130) Cesar Vazquez (25-0, 16 KOs) squares off against tough brawler Juan Carlos Burgos (29-1, 19 KOs) in a slated 10 round affair from Edgewater Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, Friday at 9 PM ET on ESPN2.
