Joe Diaz About To Slay Goliath

MONTANO FINALLY GOING TO HAVE HIS STONES SQUEEZED!

San Francisco, CA– If you’ve been following the scandal involving “Yory Boy” Campas, trainer Joe Diaz, the Arizona Boxing Commission, Top Rank Promotions and their Arizona promoter, the currently incarcerated Peter McKinn, you know it is a fight that I have helped Joe and Campas wage for some six years. But this case is like a green banana, it’ll eventually ripen to the point where you can eat the fruit.

LAWYER MOVING HIS OFFICE TO PHOENIX FOR 5-6 MONTHS!

When he resigned or retired from the Arizona Boxing Commission, it’s head man, a creep who cost me jobs, conspired with people to ruin Diaz, Campas and myself, John Montano was under the impression that with his political ties in Arizona government, that he truly was “Teflon John.” Pretty soon, he’ll be “Johnny The Trick” as attorney Edward Moriarity is moving his offices to Phoenix so he can turn out “Johnny The Trick,” ex-Commission chairperson Mary Rose Wilcox, Top Rank and McKinn, and expose these whores for what they are.

DIAZ IN REHABILITATION HOME AS MOM HAS WAKE IN JERSEY

In their attempt to ruin, and in some people’s minds, kill the now 71-year old Diaz, the owner/operator of the Top Level Boxing Gym in Phoenix, Diaz was forced to go back to work as a Plumber several months ago in order to keep the gym afloat and food in his mouth. Diaz collapsed in the gym with a massive heart attack on May 5, and to tell you the truth, I thought Joe was done and that Top Rank, Arizona officials and McKinn, would never have to answer for their punitive, cruel and illegal actions.

DIAZ’S 92 YEAR OLD MOTHER & “SUPER SISTER” TO THE RESCUE

The following day, Rosie Diaz, Joe’s younger sister flew herself and their mother to Phoenix to see Joe, who after surgery was in a coma for a couple of weeks. Under the strain of poor health and watching her eldest child lay near death in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Carmen Rovoy Diaz, Joe’s mom, her health worsened.

SUNG HER SON “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” DAYS BEFORE HER DEATH

One of the most touching moments of this ordeal for me, the only writer with the balls to stand up to Top Rank and McKinn, was that mother Carmen was able to sing Joe “Happy Birthday” a fortnight before she died in another Phoenix hospital. Having a couple of greedy, we’ll just say, less than desirable sisters myself, I was marveled at Rosie’s strength and determination, jockeying between two hospitals as brother Joe got better and mom worsened. Mama Carmen died June 15 and Rosie being the trooper that she is didn’t tell Joe until circa July 1, waiting until his health had improved to the point where she felt he could burden the emotional load.

MAMA CARMEN HAD HER WAKE IN JERSEY OVER THE WEEKEND

Returning with her ashes, Rosie, with some help, put together a formal wake and service for her mother.

PARTING SHOT AT BOXING BIGGEST MEDIA SLUTS!

There aren’t too many stories that a writer would hang his reputation on, hell Fight News’ slime ball editor Karl Freitag, and ESPN’s Dan Rafael, they never wrote ONE sentence on the six-year old case, NOT even when Top Rank’s McKinn went to jail after he copped to three Felonies, forging Diaz’s name on a cash receipt, making a false affidavit, suborning perjury, fraud, and stealing $5,000 from Campas, a former IBF 154 lb. champion.

COUPLE OF GUYS STOOD UP FOR WHAT WAS RIGHT

Only Dennis Taylor from the RingSideBoxingShow.com and the mighty Chee from DogHouseBoxing.com, these two were the only boxing writers who even bothered to mention Top Rank’s McKinn going to jail for “crimes he committed against boxing.”

IN CLOSING, THANKS NEED TO BE GIVEN

There were some people in Phoenix that supported David (Diaz and Campas) against Goliath (Top Rank, McKinn and the Arizona Boxing Commission) and they need to be recognized. Famed Phoenix restaurant owner Joe Azeem and his lovely wife, Angelica Ayala, Steve Lopez, who himself used to promote in Arizona, Sonoran News writer Linda Bentley, Teamster official Frank Mendoza, his wife Gloria, and last but not least a young lady with an abundance of class and patience, Carole Taft. I would be remiss in not acknowledging attorney Edward Moriarity, for it is he that will carry the ball across the goal line for Diaz, Campas and yours truly!

STAY TUNED AS THE S*IT IS ABOUT TO START FLYING!
