San Francisco, CA– There have been times when I’ve penned pointed pieces that I knew would be inciting. That being said, I wasn’t ready for the backlash from Manny Pacquiao’s fans who either lack confidence in Manny as a politico, consider him a political buffoon, or they’re afraid of Pac becoming a political cartoon strip of the Tagalog tabloids. It looks like this writer has more confidence in the Pacman as a lawmaker than do millions of Filipinos who allegedly admire him.

NOTHING SCANDALOUS IN MY QUESTIONS
Look, it wasn’t like I was probing the Pacman about the extra-marital affairs he is said to have had in recent years. It’s not like I asked him to explain or defend the misprinted Philippine Pesos that had President Aquino backpedaling in the media last week. I asked him as a Congressman, not as a boxer, would he have the balls to call for the legalization of Divorce, and at the same time tell the Catholic church that their 14th century mentality doesn’t coincide with 21st century science? Why do so many of you resent my even asking is Pacquiao a “real” Congressman or just a boxer who plays one on TV?
WOMEN NOT SECOND CLASS IN PHILIPPINES?
Having been inundated with emails and blogs stating that females have equal rights in the Philippines, all from macho pig types, there were just as many from females who feel they are being victimized by the Catholic’s church’s control of the Philippine government.
HEY MANNY, SCIENCE PREVAILS (KICKS ASS) OVER RELIGION!
This may throw salt in some of your religious minded optics, but Manny Pacquiao is popular enough, especially with the young people in his country, that he could spearhead legislation that could begin to limit the control the Catholic church, thus bring the country into the 21st century and make life better for his countrymen. Need I remind you that when the AID’s epidemic hit, the Catholic church (and Philippine Government) pushed “abstinence” (no sex) over sex with condoms! If you want to see how successful the “don’t have sex” concept is, ask ex-Alaska Governor Sarah Pailin about it.
IS THE CATHOLIC CHURCH GUILTY OF ISSUING DEATH WARRANTS?
Like I could give a **** about Sarah Palin, but I need to point out that Palin’s administration spent millions promoting “abstinence” (no sex) instead of sex education, and yet it was her unmarried (trampy?) daughter Bristol Palin that got knocked up! With the church condemning the use of condoms to prevent the transmission of AIDs, how many people died in the world, let alone the Philippines because they followed the prehistoric teachings of the Catholic Church?

Having a person in Congress as powerful as Manny Pacquiao, a man who could change the course of a political river unlike no other man, none of this matters if Manny doesn’t have the balls to step up. Does he have it or is he just the impotent political figure that a lot of Filipino’s think he is? You can’t have it both ways.
