The original Ultimate Fighter TV show winner, Forrest Griffin (16-4-0) and Sugar Rashad Evans (17-0-1) will put their Christmas spirit aside as they prepare to battle tonight in the Octagon for the UFC light heavyweight (205 lbs) championship! This match up has war written all over it. They are both so evenly matched and yet still developing new skills as their MMA careers progress, causing both warriors to look different each time they step into the cage. Both have amazing cardio and stamina. Griffin has the edge in ground submissions but Evans maintains better ground control. Evans has great power on his feet, as he showed in his last fight against Chuck Liddell. Griffin has the better technique which he displayed in his fight against Quinton Rampage Jackson. “MMA Chicks” pick:, Im picking Evans and its not just cuz hes fighting out of my hometown of Albuquerque, NM! Wanderlei The Axe Murderer Silva and Quinton Rampage Jackson will after two Pride FC fights in Japan, both of which Silva won, do battle in the Octagon. A win for Rampage is needed for a number of reasons. He lost his last fight, and of course there was the hit and run scandal he involved himself in earlier this year. Unfortunately for Quinton, redemption will not come of this. Look for Silva doing the hitting and Rampage will yet again be running.
NOG-MIR WINNER FIGHTS BROCK LESNAR NEXT
Interim UFC world heavyweight champ Antonio Minotauro Nogueira and the former titleholder Frank Mir will be throwing down in what will surely be an interesting fight. Mir has not only a suspect game on his feet, but also a suspect chin. His technique isnt the best but on the ground is pretty well rounded. Nogueira is impressive and technically sound on his feet, but sometimes lacks power. In the past Ive been accustomed to picking the pretty boys. My logic: they want to protect their pretty faces. Well in this case of the beauty vs. the beast, Ill take the beast!
