NONITO PROMISES “STATEMENT” AND DELIVERS JUST THAT!

Now 25-1, an interim WBA champ at 118 lbs, this after Word titles at 112 & 115 LBS, Donaire hurt the Russian early in the first round with a left hook. From that point forward, it was all Donaire, scoring a knockdown at the end of said round. The continued beatdown resulted in another knockdown in the third, before the final dropping by Donaire of the Russian at 1:40 of round four.

Donaire, who put on a clinic with right hand leads, left hook leads, combinations, double and triple jabs, the “Filipino Flash” picks up KO # 17 and sets up a fight in February with Fernando Montiel in a WBC/WBA unification bout. Donaire showed Floyd Mayweather-like ability tonight, only Nonito’s punches were telling and hurtful. Anybody that saw the bout realizes why Manny Pacquiao hasn’t had Donaire on ANY of his mega-undercards, Donaire is just a better boxer, maybe not a fighter, but a better technical boxer than Manny Pacquiao by a wide margin.
