PHOENIX CORRUPTION CASE READY TO BEAR FRUIT
San Francisco, CA– When I first wrote about how Phoenix promoter Peter McKinn bounced a $5,000 check on former champ “Yory Boy” Campas in 2005, the intention was to light a fire under the ass of the Arizona Boxing Commission head John Montano. What I didn’t know at the time was that “Papa John,” he being the man in control of the state’s boxing for 33 years, was wearing flame retardant underwear. That is no longer the case!

As a pack of attorneys for the sometimes irreverent Phoenix trainer Joe Diaz assemble a huge Conspiracy case, the hammer is about to fall on McKinn, who has run out of trial postponements, this after he was caught via “a hidden microphone” admitting to felonies like Forgery, Grand Theft, Perjury, Conspiracy. McKinn forged a signed Joe Diaz receipt for the monies Campas was owed and Montano, and Maricopa County Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox, they kept the confirmed forgery under wraps for years, not even showing it to fellow commissioners who were adjudicating the matter at the time.

McKinn, Bob Arum’s front man in Arizona because Arum couldn’t apply for a license in Arizona after his admission to an assortment of Felonies regarding bribing ex-IBF Prez Bob Lee Sr, McKinn shorted Campas, forged a receipt that he had paid him, and in the midst of this, he is walked into a criminal Court judge’s chambers in Phoenix by aide to then Governor Janet Napolitano, Earl Wilcox, the husband of the currently indicted Mary Rose Wilcox, where they asked the judge to quash the warrant!

It took years of persistence, but it appears trainer Joe Diaz, a man, who with a few others, was ruined financially and professionally by a conspiracy that has tentacles, if not roots in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now with McKinn having been denied any “plea” arrangement, he will either stand trial or roll over. McKinn, a Phoenix gang cohort, he may bite the bullet here and take the time, that’s if he is “taking care of.”

On one tape, you can hear Mc Kinn say, “They’re (the FBI & Maricopa County Sheriff) are not after us, they want Earl (Wilcox) and them.” On another, you hear him lay out the conspiracy as to the forged receipt and how it came to creation. All the while, the Arizona Republic boxing writer, Norm Frauenheim, he aided in the cover-up to the point by either writing nothing or ridiculing Diaz. Simply, put this is a scandal that has far reaching implications that in time should come to light.
