INDIANA SHOW NEEDED MORE SPARK!

Indianapolis, IN– When it comes to submission moves, heavyweight Frank Mir is one of the best. In a highly anticipated battle with former PRIDE Fighting Championships star Mirko Cro Cop, a good striker, the clash in styles produced an easily forgettable UFC 119 main event. That being said, Frank Mir used a knee in the final round to KO Cro-Cop at the 4:02 mark of round three. No need to over analyze this one, it sucked as the two grabbed and clutched until the knee.

THREE FORMER CHAMPS WIN-WIN & LOSE

The UFC 119 semi-main event saw light heavyweight Ryan Bader take a UD 3 (30-27 x 3) over Brazilian super heavyweight amateur boxing champion Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Bader will next meet Jon Jones. One ex-UFC champ Sean Sherk had to go three to nab a split decision over Evan Dunham. Scores were 29-28 twice for SS, the other read 29-28 Dunham. Another one time UFC king, Matt Serra wasn’t as fortunate as Sherk as he dropped a UD 3 (30-27) to Chris Lytle. Full report forthcoming by “Slammin’ Sammy” Perez.
