HBO PPV MAIN WAS A SNOOZER NOT WORTH THE BUCKS!

Los  Angeles, CA Shane Mosley (154 lbs), Pomona, CA D 12 Sergio Mora, (157), Los Angeles, CA. Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KOs) and a reluctant Mora (22-1-2, 6 KOs) fought a boring and ugly fight.   The only the uglier was the decision.  Action in the first half of the bout was all Mosley as the skittish Mora didn’t want to engage in any exchanges and Mosley walked him around the ring.  The fight became slower after Mosley slowed down in the later rounds.  Scores were 115-113 Mora, 116-112 Mosley, and 114-114.  If I were generous I would have given Mora only the ninth.

ALVAREZ STEALS THE SPOTLIGHT WITH DRILLING!

Saul Alvarez (150.5), Jalisco, Mexico KO 6 Carlos Baldomir (153.4), Los  Angeles, CA. Alvarez (34-0-1, 26 KOs) lives up to his hype with a spectacular knockout of the rugged Baldomir (45-13-6, 14 KOs).  A single left hook dropped Baldomir for the count at 2:58 of round six.

DE LEON BOUNCES BACK WITH HUGE WIN!

Daniel Ponce De Leon (125.8), Huntington Park, CA TKO 3 Antonio Escalante (126), El Paso, TX. De Leon (40-2, 33 KOs) displayed some good boxing skills before unleashing his explosive power by landing a big right to the head of Escalante (24-3, 15 KOs).  After two rounds of dominance, the single right finished Escalante.  Time was 2:40.

IN BATTLE OF VICIOUS FIGHTERS, ONLY ONE JUST THAT!

Victor Ortiz (142), Oxnard, CA TKO 3 Vivian Harris (142), Brooklyn, NY. Ortiz (28-2-1, 22 KOs) made a human pinball out of Harris (29-5-1, 19 KOs), scoring four devastating knockdowns in less than nine minutes.  Three times in round two and once in round three when the slaughter was finally called at 0:45.
