FRIDAY THE SIXTH DAY OF SEARCH FOR PROMOTER’S SON

Marblemount, WABob Arum has worn a lot of hats in his 78 years. Honored at Harvard in 1958, a US Attorney in the 60s, promoter of mega-events, but none of this compares to him being a father. On Sunday, Arum’s 49 year old son John Arum went missing on a recreational hike. When he didn’t surface right away, the Top Rank skipper and his third wife Lovee, they bolted from the City of Angels and a promotional tour to the search area in the North Cascades National Park, some 85 miles from Seattle.

GOOD WEATHER, EXPERIENCE, & TWO GREAT CLUES

Earlier today Michael Marley, former NY Post ace who is now scribbling at Examiner.com, Mike reported that first a backpack was located on Tuesday night, then a fanny pack was found on Wednesday evening, both belonging to John Arum had been found. With this being the end of summer, hopefully the night time temperatures are not life threatening. Both items were found close to regularly utilized mountain routes circa the 8,000 level. It appears he is leaving clues to the searchers. The fanny pack was located by an aerial search unit probing Storm King Mountain.

WISH ARUM FAMILY GOD’S SPEED

As far as his chances for survival are concerned, this will have a lot to do with John Arum’s emotional well being. An experienced mountaineer, if he can remain calm Arum could theoretically survive for weeks, provided the weather remains fair. In closing, nothing can be more daunting for a parent than to have to go through Bob Arum is experiencing. We hope that father and son are soon reunited!
