STRONG FIGHTS, JUST NONE IN UNITED STATES
Guadalajara, MX– (FOX Sports) Omar Romero (29-3-2, 11 KOs) vs. Ronald Barrera (27-7-2, 17 KOs) (WBC 108 lb. title) Odds/Prediction: Omar 3-1. Always beware of “Colombian punchers” like Barrera. That being said, Mexican a level better. Both stopped twice, think it’s a third time for Barrera.
Jorge Solis (37-2-2, 28 KOs) vs. Francisco Cordero (23-0, 15 KOs) Odds/Prediction: Solis 14-5. Three years from a KO loss to Manny Pacquiao, Solis will
look to make it 2-0 Mexico over Colombia.
Glasgow, Scotland– Roman Martinez (24-0-1, 15 KOs) vs. Ricky Burns (28-2, 7 KOs) (WBO 130 lb. belt) Odds/Prediction: Roman 4-1. Would be more if not for UK site. Puerto Rican is far better. Unless they poison Martinez, there will be no “home cooking” here. Dropping $1,200 beans to won $300.
Koln, Germany– Felix Sturm (33-2-1, 14 KOs) vs. Giovanni Lorenzo (29-2, 21 KOs) (Super WBA 160 lb. title) Odds/Prediction: Sturm 3 1/2 to 1. Inactivity is Sturm’s middle name. That and making 160 could spell upset. Don’t thnk so, Sturm wins on points.
Ljubljana, Slovenia– Jan Zaveck (29-1, )17 KOs vs. Rafal Jackiewicz (36-8-1, 18 KOs) (IBF 147 lb. title) Odds/Prediction: Jan 4-1. Going with hometown guy over Pole. Throwing $800 beans down on Jan to make $200.
Buenos Aires, Argentina– Luis Lazarte (47-9-1, 18 KOs) vs. Nerys Espinoza (29-5-1, 20 KOs) (IBF 108 lb. title) Odds/Prediction: LL 3-1. Espinoza brought in to lose, I think he will.
