INTEGRATED SPORTS PPV VIEWERS SEE CALDERON FALTER
Guaynabo, Puerto Rico– Giovanni Segura, (107.9 lbs) Bell Gardens, CA KO 8 Ivan Calderon, (107.8), Guaynabo, Puerto Rico (WBO/WBA 108 lb. titles) In what should be the fight of the year, WBA junior-flyweight world champion Segura (25-1, 21 KOs) scored a punishing eighth round KO over now former WBO champ Calderon (34-1-1, 6 KOs) to unify the 108 lb. championship.

Calderon displayed his beautiful boxing skills early on and stunned Segura in the first. But Segura turned it on and had Calderon in trouble in round five, when during the break the ex-champ complained about a thumb to his eye. Round six saw back a forth action, where Calderon survived some difficult moments, and regained his form in the seventh. Segura, however, continuously applied pressure to the 34 year old calderon and finally floored him for the count with a liver shot in round eight. Time was 1:34.

Gonzalez (12-0, 8 KOs) and Marengo (5-1-4, 3 KOs) engaged in a toe-to-toe back and forth battle with neither giving ground. Marengo’s chin gave in finally in the fifth, although he got up at the count of nine, it was only a matter of time. Referee Roberto Ramirez jr. couldn’t step in as Marengo fought back bravely until 1:19 of the sixth.
McJoe Arroyo, (118), Fajardo, Puerto Rico UD 6 Sigfredo Medina, (120), Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. McJoe Arroyo (5-0, 2 KOs) has a “sparring session” against a puffy faced Medina (3-2, 2 KOs). The scores were all 60-54.
McWilliams Arroyo, (113.3 lbs), Fajardo, Puerto Rico UD 6 Jiovanne Fuentes (112.3 lbs), Puerto Rico. McWilliams Arroyo (4-1, 3 KOs) rebounded from his first loss with an easy shutout win against Fuentes (2-1, 1 KO). Scores were 60-54 on all cards.
LUNDY TAKES OPEN SPOT ON ESPN 2
Montreal, Canada-Henry Lundy, (140), Philadelphia, PA UD 10 Omri Lowther, (138), Ontario, Canada. With only four days to prepare, Lundy (19-1, 8 KOs) took a shot and hit a bulls eye with an easy win over Lowther (14-2, 10 KOs). Scores were 98-92 and 100-90 twice.
