STRIKE TWO FOR ARUM & MARGA-CHEATO
San Francisco, CA– Now I don’t want to start this off with me gloating, but I will. The California State Athletic Commission yesterday denied Antonio Margarito a license to box, this after California took away his license for “loading” his hand wraps for a 2009 fight with Shane Mosley, and after he went to both Nevada and Texas asking for a license.
WHY IS PAC FIGHTING TO FIGHT A CHEATER?
To find out that Bob Arum’s money didn’t mean s*it to the California Commission, this to me was a monumental statement favoring right over wrong! Attorney General Karen Chappele, she ripped the Mexican fighter and his lame advisors apart like pinata at a birthday party. Arum was pleading that Margarito be licensed “just once” for the Manny Pacquiao fight, one that will make Margarito and Pac money, in all likleyhood a match in which Arum would likely make more than the fighters!
TEXAS & ARUM TO TEST FEDERAL LAW?
The only way Jerry Jones, owner of the NFL Cowboys and Arum can put this fight in Texas is for the Texas Commission to disavow the ruling of California. But to do would also be violating Federal law put forth in the Muhammad Ali Professional Boxing Act. In closing, yesterday was a day for the good guys in boxing!
