HBO SHOWCASES NEW STAR IN THE MAKING

New York, NY– Possessing unified titles at jr. welterweight (140 lbs), IBF and WBC champion Devon “Alexander the Great” Alexander (20-0, 13 KOS) will be in defense of his belts against savvy former WBA strap carrier Adriyan Kotelnik (31-3, 13 KOs) over 12 rounds (or less) at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri tomorrow night at 10 PM ET topping an HBO Championship Boxing card.

“THE GREAT” WORKING BEING AT PERFECT

Unblemished against solid opposition as a professional fighter, Devon Alexander has done everything asked of him and continues his quest to impress. Throughout his six-year career, Devon has virtually dominated every foe that has stepped up to the challenge. Originally crafted as a boxer, to add to his forte, Alexander recently has acquired “lights out” type of power to his already established arsenal. A successful night on Saturday could possibly pit Alexander in a fight that people want to see against Timothy Bradley.

DOUBLE OR NOTHING FOR FORMER CHAMP

Come this Saturday, during his 10-year tenure, world warrior Adriyan Kotelnik will be boxing on American soil for the first time. Prior, Kotelnik has shared experiences throwing hands with decent opposition, and even managed a win against current belt holder Marcos Maidana (W UD 12). However, Adriyan has failed a higher level against Amir Khan (L UD 12). After losing the title to Kahn,  unknown former belt holder Kotelnik, with a win on Saturday, is in a rare position of earning a chance at coming out better then he came in, as he tries to pick up two belts after losing one.

JAMAICAN GATEKEEPER MEETS LATEST RAGE

Unbeaten IBF light heavyweight (175) powerhouse slugger Travis Cloud (28-0, 18 KOs) takes seasoned veteran former champion Glen Johnson (50-13-2, 34 KOs) for 12 scheduled rounds.

WILL MAYWEATHER APPEAR WITH KING DON?

One source said that Floyd Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs) was going to make an appearance with Don King, who is promoting his first card on HBO in quite a long time. If Mayweather gets TV time, he is expected to dog Manny Pacquiao for refusing “random drug” testing and fighting Antonio Margarito. Should Floyd indeed show up, it would bring some additional intrigue to the 10 PM ET broadcast.

ESPN MATCHES “HOT & COLD” WITH “COLD” TONIGHT!

The man that flatted current champ Amir Khan in just 54 seconds of round number one just two years back, streaky combatant Breidis Prescott (22-2, 19 KOs) attempts to get back in the talent rich jr. welterweight picture as he takes on a “put through the ringer” far too many times scrapper Harrison Cuello (19-12-3, 14 KOs) over ten proposed rounds at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois, tonight on ESPN 2 at 9 PM ET.

STOP THE PRESSES AS SHO BOX RETURNS!

After a near month absence, the critically acclaimed series ShoBox returns with a bang when devastating punch bully Chris Avalos (16-0, 13 KOs) throws hands with unbested, but untested pug Christopher Martin (18-0-2, 5 KOs) over 10 scheduled rounds in the bantamweight (118) division at the Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota, tonight at 11 PM on Showtime.
