Not looking like they could read, let alone a sports page, these grisly types threw out the name “Butterbean.” They were talking about Buttbean Esch, a carnival character of sorts that fought on some big Top Rank cards in the 1990s. Having won a slew of four round fights, he at 350 lbs. was recognized as “World Heavyweight Champ of The 4 Rounders” by former MLB baseball Cy Young award winner Dean Chance’s International Boxing Assn.
NUMBER OF FIGHTS “FIXED”
The 350 lb. Bean went 77-8-4, 58 KOs. There were many instances in which the results of his fights were “pre-determined.” His fights were part of the Operation Matchbox probe, the one that was halted by big money and one influential man from Nevada that once worked for President Bush.

The bikers were convinced that Butterbean was the “true” world’s heavyweight champion. Having been in places like Juarez, MX and Las Vegas, NV, I questioned the ability of local heroes and their claims to greatness, and nearly got killed for it, I realized that to push Butterbean as a fraud in front of the Clorox kids, it might be hazardous to my health so I let it go.
BUTTERBEAN THE MMA FIGHTER!
The Bean returns October 9 for a MMA fight against a foe not yet announced. He is 12-7-1 in MMA, and is looking to fight street urchin Kimbo Slice.
