EX-BALCO GURU CONTE ON SHANE & FLOYD
San Carlos, CA– Fact: Shane Mosley has already been “convicted’’ by his own grand jury testimony in the BALCO case as a steroid and EPO user. Now with the talk of Mosley meeting Floyd Mayweather in the coming months, steroids and EPO is back in the news. There has been no public talk yet of Mayweather insisting Mosley, who clearly needled up before his second fight with Oscar De La Hoya, which he won with a burst of energy in the final two rounds, agree to random testing. But how could Floyd not demand it after making it such a public issue with Manny Pacquiao?
GOLDEN BOY ALL BOXED IN HERE?
As for Richard Schaefer, Golden Boy Promotions chieftain, how could he argue against it with Mosley, his client, when he was so adamant about Manny Pacquiao submitting to stringent testing even though he had never tested positive for PEDs nor been outted by his own testimony before a Federal grand jury? The dilemma Golden Boy Promotions has is that they will have to contend with the position Floyd takes.
I BEAT THE NEVADA TESTS WITH SHANE!
The fact is Nevada, where the fight likely would be staged, is a state that claims to have rigorous testing when in fact it does not. Unless you have a prior case they have never tested a fighter for PEDs with random blood testing that I know of. As the former owner of BALCO, if I had a client faced with the Nevada State Athletic Commission requirements he wouldn’t even bother to look at what was on their banned list because none of my clients would ever test positive under their protocols.
