DON KING V. BOB ARUM, A 36 YEAR FIGHT
San Francisco, CA– There are many of you that long for the Don King PPV cards with four or five title fights, especially seeing the current stable of promoters, mainly Bob Arum’s Top Rank, and Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy, only put forth the advertised main event, with nothing of historical significance to back it up.

People will look back at the Ali-Joe Frazier III, Ali–Foreman, JC Chavez, the Mike Tyson era etc., and say that King is the choice when in comes to being rated over Arum.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
That being said, it might be hard not to rate Bob Arum over Don King for overall promotional superiority. Arum began with Ali circa 1966, and made bank with Oscar De La Hoya, Marvin Hagler to a lesser extent. It was Arum who brought us the ESPN fights.
ARUM OR KING: WHO’S DA’ MAN?
As for being unique, outlandish and controversial, King the rabbit, Arum the tortoise, DK has got Bob beat. But at the end of the day, King cannot match Arum’s current status, meaning his longevity. As we enter 2010, King and Arum, rivals since 1974, DK has to give away turkeys to get a media mention. Arum on the other hand, with Manny Pacquiao in house, is in the news everyday.
