PACQUIAO MAY HAVE TO ANSWER (PAY?) FOR FIGHT FRAUD
San Francisco, CA– When Manny Pacquiao arrived at the MGM Grand to face Floyd Mayweather on May 2, it was expected that both he and Mayweather were in good enough health to give their all. At the same time, when people plucked down a record $100 to view the much anticipated scrap on Pay Per View, they too thought they were buying a match involving healthy two-armed fighters.

MANNY ASKED COMMISSION FOR “PAIN & STIFFNESS” SHOT
Lastly, those who wagered on the Filipino winning the fight, they too were “cheated” as we would find out that when Manny arrived at the arena a couple of hours before the fight, he asked for pain medication for an injury later revealed as a “severely torn right rotator cuff muscle.” The day before, on May 1 Manny signed the affidavit printed above “swearing” he had no injuries.
TRY AND THINK OF THIS AS A RACE
To me, this is akin to allowing Triple Crown winner American Pharaoh to run in the Kentucky Derby on three legs. I mean Pacquiao, like a horse’s four legs, should’ve had two hands and arms, he did not. The January 2014 injury that put NBA great Kobe Bryant on the shelf for nine months. When this writer suffered a minor rotator cuff tear, he had problems picking up a salt shaker.
THE “MEAT OF THE LAWSUIT” IS THIS
The diagnosis was rendered from an MRI that Team Pacquiao took three weeks prior to the May 2 event in Los Angeles, thus, and here is the contention of those suing Pacquiao, the Defendant’s, Manny, promoter Bob Arum et al, they knew Pacquiao would not enter the ring anywhere near 100%.
FEDERAL COURT COMBINING ALL CASES VS. PACMAN
The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said in its decision that determining the severity and timing of the boxer’s rotator-cuff injury could require “significant factual, and possibly expert, discovery.” The court will look at the facts of the case, including those who knew about the injury as they are consolidating the large number of cases filed in many states.
SOUNDS LIKE TROUBLE FOR TEAM PACQUIAO
The way I read the previous paragraph is that the court will take a look at the evidence, concede the “public was conned” and the case will go to trial. I don’t think you need to be Alan Dershowitz to see that this time, unless the judge ignores the law and redefines fraud, this case will set a precedent in sport’s history. Watch this space.
