WSOF 22 RESULTS & WSOF NEWS
San Francisco, CA– The World Series of Fighting bantamweight (135) champion Marlon Moraes of Brazil was impressive (as expected) in taking out countryman Sheymon da Silva Moraes (same last name) via rear-naked choke in round three of the WSOF 22 main Saturday at Sin City’s Planet Hollywood.
WSOF PAID CHAMPION SIX FIGURES

Marlon Moraes made $140,000, a nice statement by the new WSOF CEO Carlos Silva, the former President & COO of Universal Sports Network has the smarts to move the WSOF into a role where it can take shots at the possibly soon to be “neutered” UFC, should a fighter’s Class Action Suit prove their allegations that the UFC is not only a tyrant of an entity, but an illegal monopoly.
WSOF 22 & MR. CONTROVERSY ROUSIMAR PALHARES
WSOF welterweight (170) champ Rousimar Palhares, dumped from the UFC for refusing to let go of “submission holds” in fights, prevailed with a kimura in round three over former Strikeforce champ Jake Shields.
VIDEO REPLAY SHOWS TEN “EYE SWIPES”
Palhares appeared to repeatedly gouge Shields’ eyes before not letting go of the kimura that brought the fight to an end. The Nevada Athletic Commission has initiated an investigation and thus are holding $40,000 of his $80,000 pay ($40K was a bonus) until further notice. Shields got $35K in losing.
SILVA INKS CHAMPS TO CONTRACT EXTENSIONS
WSOF middleweight (185) guy David Branch, unbeaten lightweight (155) Justin Gaethje titleholder & the aforementioned bantamweight champ Marlon Moraes have all signed multi-year pacts with Silva and company.
