Frampton On The Deck Early
San Francisco, CA– On the daytime PBC (Premier Boxing Champions ) card in El Paso, TX, IBF 122 lb. champion Carl Frampton won a Unanimous Decision 12 Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. The challenger’s resume was so void of talent he was given nothing but a “puncher’s” chance. That was almost enough to drill Frampton in round one as a left hook put the Brit on the deck for the first time in competition, be it amateur or professional.
“PHENOM” FRAMPTON ALMOST BECAME BOXING RUBBLE
Resuming a vertical position, Frampton was then rendered horizontal by a right hand. At this point and time, Carl Frampton was on the verge of morphing from pugilistic phenom to pugilistic rubble. Picking himself up once again, Frampton would escape his hellish stanza and come back and blank the Mexican mauler for the rest of the 12 rounder. Frampton is 21-0, 14 stops. Gonzalez loses for the second time, 25-2-2, 15 KOs. Scores in the CBS TV main event were 115-109, 116-108 & 116-108.

ARREOLA CONTINUES “TACO TRUCK” TRAINING
Chris Arreola Draw 10 Fred Kassi. RANK heavyweight Arreola (36-4-1, 31 KOs) missed all day as the pesky Kassi (18-3-1, 10 KOs) pity patted him for the majority of the ten rounds. Scores were 96-94 Arreola and 95-95 twice. Simple answer to all of Arreola’s problems, more tacos and beer!

Later in the day, same arena with Showtime beaming, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. UD 10 Marcos Reyes (Catchweight) JC Jr. fought a much smaller man in the 33-4, 22 KOs Reyes. Chavez boasted afterwards to deaf ears here. Reyes said, “Against all odds, the referee, weight, everything. I think I won the fight. It’s OK, I did my best. Chavez (49-2-1, 32 KOs) was a light heavyweight (175) fighting a middleweight (160)” Scores were 97-92, 98-91 & 96-93. Overall feeling post fight? Yawn, yawn Jr., fight Gennady Golovkin at 168.
FELLOW BRIT SCOTT QUIGG “TRUMPS” FRAMPTON
Manchester, UK– WBA 122 lb. guy Scott Quigg KO 3 Kiko Martinez. The aforementioned Carl Frampton went the 12 round route in 2014 with Kiko, while Quigg (31-0-2, 23 KOs) takes him out in two rounds. Kiko (32-6, 24 KOs) tried in round one, but Quigg was too much. After two knockdowns, the fight was called at 1:04 of round two.

The big fight here is Scott Quigg vs. Carl Frampton in Wembley Stadium. Welterweights Kell Brook-Amir Khan could fill this same venue the very next day!

Colombian WBA 135 lb. (lightweight) titleholder Darleys Perez (32-2-1, 20 KOs) Draw 12 Anthony Crolla (29-4-3, 19 KOs) Judges John Potura (USA) & Jose Roberto Torres (Puerto Rico) had it even at 113-113, while Erkki Meronen of Finland saw it Crolla winning 116-111. Perez of Colombia lost two points for low blows. Crolla promoter Eddie Hearn claims his guy was “…….” you know. WBA to review to scores I’m told.
ABRAHAM STILL WBO SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMP
Halle, Germany– WBO 168 lb. king Arthur Abraham KO 6 Robert Stieglitz. The fourth go around for this pair should be the last as Stieglitz was mugged thoroughly before he just crumbled into a heap at 1:14 of round six. Abraham (43-4, 29 KOs) wins 3 of 4 against Stieglitz who declines to 47-4-1, 27 KOs.
BOXING FROM “VEGAS ON STEROIDS” IN CHINA

Macao, China– In a vacant IBF 140 lb. title tilt, China’s Ik Yang (19-1, 14 KOs) failed to grab a belt as Cesar Rene Cuenca of Argentina remained unbeaten at 48-0 with just 2, yes 2 KOs with a UD 12. Yank was down in the opener and Cuenca in round five. Yang lost a point in round 12. Scores: Ben Keilty @ 117-108, Mike Fitzgerald 116-109 & Ian Scott 115-110.
DONAIRE DRIBBLES FOE LIKE BASKETBALL FOR TKO
Super Bantamweight (122 lb.) contender Nonito Donaire (35-3, 23 KOS) TKO 2 Anthony Settoul. Two droppings of Settoul in round one and the third in round two prompted the stop at 1:41. Settoul is now 20-4, 8 KOs. Mismatch on paper and in ring.
