ADULT ENOUGH TO BROACH “NO-NOS”

Floyd Mayweather & Leonard Ellerbe

Floyd Mayweather & Leonard Ellerbe

San Francisco, CA– As somebody that favors himself as an American Constitutionalist and Historian of sorts, few things get past me. The recent Supreme Court rulings that legalized Same Sex marriage and Obamacare would not have been a shock had you studied US history.

SAN FRANCISCO BORN & RAISED

Born in what was then the last real bastion of liberalism, Northern California, I might be queer to some of you. A strange Hetero that has traveled the world extensively, my queerness is that I believe everyone should get food, an education and medical care.

BEING GAY AND PROFESSIONAL BOXING

When I was asked to “out” a professional boxer in the early part of this century, I told his people that the timing was not right. As it turns out, the fighter Orlando Cruz did come out in 2012, or a decade after this was first broached.

EMILE GRIFFITH & TYSON MANAGER?
Boxing has had Gay guys in it since it’s conception. There was a man whom I knew was Gay, had around 20 fights and retired in 1999. Almost every minute of everyday, this fighter was so afraid somebody would “out” him that he was incredibly paranoid.

AM I OUTING TEAM TYSON?

Having always thought the late Jim Jacobs, Mike Tyson’s co-manager with Bill Cayton, a World Handball champion and Tyson mentor Cus D’Amato were closer than just business partners, Jacobs was married and is said to have shared a NYC studio apt with Cus for years.

GAY GUYS MARRY WOMEN & LIVE IN CLOSET

It was oh-so common back in the 60s for “Beards” (women) to be put in place to insure nothing looked out of the ordinary.

GAYS IN EVERY ASPECT OF FIGHT GAME

Take my word for this, Leonard Ellerbe, Floyd Mayweather’s outspoken advisor, isn’t the only reportedly Gay guy making seven figures in the fight game.

NOT SCARED ANYMORE, BUT!

During a Monday afternoon chat, the fighter that retired in 1999 and is living in Reno, NV told me although he doesn’t have to stay in the closet anymore, he chooses to keep his Gayness a secret.

“REALLY DOESN’T MATTER”

Having lived in a City surrounded by ethnic and sexual diversity, I never really cared what people do among themselves. Fighters are fighters, people are people, I judge them by their relationships with me, not by anything else!
