PUNCHERS CLASH AT MSG SATURDAY
Las Vegas, NV– There is a certain mystique when it comes to Kazakhstan native, former Olympic Silver medalist and WBA middleweight champion (160 lb.) Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. With 24 stoppage wins in 27 bouts, “GGG” has truly taken the boxing world by storm.

His bouts are exciting, and overall Gennady keeps fans wanting to see more. Saturday on HBO he takes on arguably his toughest foe to date in Curtis Stevens (25-3, 18 KOs). Stevens, a native of Brooklyn, NY talks a good game, but is he truly game for the fight?
STEVENS HAS LOSS TO JESSE BRINKLEY
The Brooklynite is a massive underdog, and for good reason. Jesse Brinkley (35-7, 22 KOs) of “The Contender” TV fame, beat him decisively in 2010, and he was also stopped by the always “comes to fights” journeyman Marcos Primera (19-15-2 at the time) in 2006. Stevens is a solid puncher, but there’s question marks about his chin, and Golovkin not only possesses power, but is extremely accurate both to the body and head.

To be fair to Stevens, he has looked much better in his last few bouts which include three first round KO’s in three of his last four bouts. However one has to believe that some of that success has to do with the quality or lack of quality of the opposition.
SCENARIO WHERE STEVENS PULLS OFF UPSET?
Barring a lucky shot that Golovkin doesn’t see, one must expect an easy win for the WBA champion. Stevens should be dangerous for the first three rounds because of his hand speed, but defensively he has holes that should be easily exploited. It’s expected that this won’t go past six rounds.
