“RING TALK” VISITS 33RD COUNTRY “HUNGARY”
Budapest, Hungary– When I realize that only a small percentile (8-10%) of the US population has ever left the country, (no birthers Hawaii is a state) its sort of sad in that sans contact with people from other walks of life, other cultures, one is being deprived of knowledge that would help shape your opinion of life as you know it and the world. As I entered country #33 yesterday from Switzerland, it was the start of another adventure in a life that has been priceless in that no one could have paid to walk where I have gone.
26TH WBO CONGRESS HITS BUDAPEST!
The World Boxing Organization is holding their 26th WBO Congress here in Budapest, and as it turned out being one of the last arrivals, they only had a penthouse room with a million dollar view in this the #1 hotel in town. While sitting here awaiting a WBO field trip of sorts, I just couldn’t begin to thank my lucky stars for not only has boxing taking me around the world countless times, being part of history in televising the first professional boxing from the Peoples Republic of China, but for the good people in boxing.
BOXING NO DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER BIZ EXCEPT BLOOD SHOWS!
While there maybe some unscrupulous characters in boxing, being a former San Francisco Policeman I can tell you that boxing is a microcosm of society. Hey I’ve found the radio and publishing business more sinister in many regards than the bozos in boxing. Truth is a lot of people are self centered, greedy and will lie to get an advantage, this is not in only in boxing, it’s life in general. So when you hear people raggin’ on the boxing game, tell them to turn their attentions to Wall St. in NYC & K St. in Washington D.C., that’s where the crooks are!
